20230906_A VOICE REVEALS THE EXISTENCE OF TIME AND THE EXISTENCE OF THE PRODUCER OF THE VOICE IN THAT TIME
A voice has no weight, no mass, no color, no shape, no surface. It surely appears but it definitely disappears as quick as it is produced. It is just a vibration in the air which is TRANSITORY(pXV, David Toop, Sinister Resonance the Mediumship of the Listener) so can you trust it if it is really there? and where is ths “there”?, and yet it has a presence; a strong presence of existance. (p36, Mladen Dolar, A Voice and Nothing More) What a voice reveals is the existence of time and the existence of the one who produces the voice in that time, which no visual property can. One may say a movement may prove the same and indeed it could probably do, however a falling object for example has its movement in time yet it is not alive; something else, the gravity, is at work in motion(like earth or wind or…). However when the voice is produced, we all know that the producer of the voice is alive. That is a voice.
It is in the precise present that the voice exists and yet it is only a moment or some more later we can hear it as a “voice”. The recognition always comes in delay.
